ETF Sector Spotlight For 08/13/2021

Market Recap For August 13th, 2021

The week ended with a slightly positive market, will all four of the major indices we follow finishing in the green.

Ongoing forecasts are not changing much lately because the market continues to do the same thing: Move higher, no matter what, eventually.

Yesterday’s Sector Performance

Consumer Staples moved to the top spot for the first time in a while.

Energy pulled back again after a recent recovery.

Five-Day Sector Performance

Materials ended up winning the week, with Consumer Staples catching up.

Energy was the only sector finishing in the red last week.

ETF Trade Watch

Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE)

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP)

Consumer Staples won the day on Friday and is now nearly at the top of the weekly, which means now could be a good time to look at the XLP.

On the other end, Energy is struggling, and that is dragging the XLE down. Bearish traders might want to give it a look.

Good luck!
