ETF Sector Spotlight For 10/12/2021

Market Recap For October 12th, 2021

Yesterday was relatively subdued, which isn’t helpful when trying to forecast the next move. Ultimately, the major indices finished slightly in the red.

Not much can be made of Tuesday’s trading, but unless a meaningful move to the upside occurs, traders may want to either stay out or lean a tad bearish.

Yesterday’s Sector Performance

Real Estate had another good day, compared to the rest of the market.

Communication Services finished at the bottom, again.

Five-Day Sector Performance

Energy is still on top, but the sector is slowly falling back to the pack.

Communication Services are now at the bottom of the week.

ETF Trade Watch

Real Estate Select Sector SPDR (XLRE)

Communication Services Select Sector SPDR (XLC)

Communication Services is officially the weakest sector, and if that continues to be the case, expect the XLC to decline further.

Real Estate is holding its own near the top of the market, and the XLRE is one of the best ways to trade that space.

Good luck!
