Market Recap For January 4th, 2022
A bit of a crazy day yesterday, as markets jumped to start the morning, then got drilled for the next hour or so.
Stocks recovered somewhat, but some of the claw back was lost by day’s end. Tough to say where today takes stocks.
Yesterday’s Sector Performance
Energy stocks followed through on Monday’s rally to lead once again.
Healthcare struggled on Tuesday.
Five-Day Sector Performance
As suspected, Energy is now on top of our weekly chart as well.
Just like on our daily, Healthcare is at the bottom.

Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE)
Financials Select Sector SPDR (XLF)
The market drop yesterday was a bit of a surprise, so it’s hard to want to be long or short going into today.
If higher prices come, Energy and Financials are currently the clear leaders, which means traders should check out the XLE and XLF.
