Market Recap For December 16th, 2021
In somewhat of a surprise, Thursday saw markets almost completely reverse Wednesday’s FOMC induced rally.
In a year chock full of reversals and fake outs, it’s hard to say what today might bring. Rather than try to forecast it, let’s just see how today plays out.
Yesterday’s Sector Performance
Financials and Materials managed to have a pretty good day.
Technology stocks were hit the hardest.
Five-Day Sector Performance
Consumer Staples are still the leader over the past 5 days.
Consumer Discretionary moved right back to the bottom.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY)
As stated above, this market is a very challenging one to nail down for more thana day or two. Even though yesterday’s close wasn’t awful, it also wasn’t bullish.
If the move lower continues further, bearish traders might want to take a look at ETFs such as the XLK and XLY.
