Market Recap For December 22nd, 2022
Quite the wild day on Thursday, as markets fell right out of the gate and into mid-day. Stocks found their footing a couple of hours before the close.
Yesterday finished in the red, but on a bullish note. If the runup into the close means anything, today should start off higher.
Yesterday’s Sector Performance
Healthcare almost made its way into the green by the end of the day.
Technology and Discretionary battled it out for last place.
Five-Day Sector Performance
Financials has found a little green over the past week, Staples are close.
Discretionary has now distanced itself at the bottom.

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP)
Financials Select Sector SPDR (XLF)
Even though the sector hasn’t made it to the top of any individual day, Financials have now led the week, and that means it’s time to look at the XLF.
Near the top of both the daily and weekly charts is Consumer Staples, and the XLP is a top ETF to track the space.
